Testimonials

As a super-ambitious young person, participating in the CampusLabs Start-Up Incubator Program was a transformative experience for me. The program challenged my initial ideas, refined my approach, and provided the structure to turn market research into a viable solution. During the program, I have learned lean ways to build a minimum viable product and validate my idea. One of the most valuable takeaways was learning to pivot when necessary and when to stick it through. The feedback and connections I built during the program will continue shaping my entrepreneurial journey. I highly recommend this incubator to any student/young innovator looking to make a real impact.

Thank you, CampusLabs, for this incredible opportunity!

The CampusLabs Employability Incubator 2022 was an amazing journey, and very essential building block for my career path.

The program stood out for me in so many ways, and one of the major skills I learnt was networking and how important building a social circle is. One of my most amazing session was the emotional intelligence session, which touched on how to navigate workplace conflicts, self-awareness, being aware of our emotions and those of others, and channeling it to give proper feedback at every point when working in an organization.

My experience with the Community Impact Challenge was an eye-opener of how much we could do together as a team. We spoke to over 150 teenagers on mental health awareness, and it was interesting to see these children learn and become more aware of their mental health. It was interesting to see how open these teenagers were about the challenges they were facing.

The CampusLabs start-up incubator was my first introduction to the mechanics behind product building and developing a company with a long term view.

Interacting with the other founders also opened up my creativity and helped me see things from other people's perspective - us spreading each other's idea out, suggesting improvements and cheering for growth is something I constantly look back on fondly.

Beyond all of these, The incubator taught me to plant my creative ideas within the boundaries of reality, be flexible in my thinking (reiteration) and learn constantly.

I was present at the entrepreneurship session wherein Mr. Akpo Kentebe spoke... There are five things that every entrepreneur must have: 1. Knowledge 2. Vision 3. A good understanding of numbers 4. Ability to network 5. Effective communication skills. I got to understand that growth does not just occur in a venture. An entrepreneur must be diligent in their business, if they really want the business to grow. It is also very crucial for entrepreneurs to know their margins well. Furthermore, he gave us an insight into why an An investor might not make an investment into a valuable idea. The idea is valuable; this the investor knows. However, the investor does not know the character of the person seeking investment. Is this person resilient, determined? If the investor is not convinced that the person has the mindset it takes to stay the course in the face of troubles, investment might not be made. He then gave us three assignments: 1. Find a business modeling canvas and know how to use it. 2. Find out what 'effectuation' is. 3. Explore effective communication skills. I got good value for the time spent at the session and at the event as a whole.
